Meriel Herbert is a contemporary artist based in Sheffield. She makes audio-video installations and short films for screening.

 

Meriel has been commissioned to create a new photographic work for ‘The Sheffield Pavilion’ publication, to be launched at the Venice Beinnale and Documenta (Kassel, Germany) this Summer. She created Reaching Over 2007 as a direct response to the physicality of the book. This shows a gesture across four pages, with two hands touching at the centre of the double-page spread.
